Chiropractic Care

What is Chiropractic Care?

Chiropractic care is a natural, drug-free, non-surgical health treatment that is based on the body’s inherent recuperative abilities. We focus on improving joint dysfunctions, or misalignments, of the spine and extremities that cause you pain, discomfort, and reduced mobility. These misalignments are the result of tissue injury that can be caused by a single traumatic event, such as the improper lifting of an object or a car accident, or from repetitive stresses from activities like prolonged sitting with poor posture or improper computer workstation ergonomics.

At Benicia Wellness Center, we treat patients of all ages that have a variety of musculoskeletal problems. Common issues we treat include pain relating to car accidents, whiplash, sports accidents, falls, or repetitive stress; neck pain, back pain, extremity (shoulder, elbow, wrist, knee, ankle, foot) pain, TMJ pain, headaches, sciatica, disc bulges, and both inflammatory and degenerative arthritis.

Dr. Megan McConnell consults with Certified Massage Therapist Rose Cale about the best course of treatment for their patient.

We use adjustments, manually by hand or with specialized tools, to help address any misalignments you come into our office with. Along with adjustments, Dr. McConnell supports your health with personalized exercise and stretching programs, postural education, ergonomic recommendations, and nutritional advice. With improved spinal and joint function, we help you enjoy a lifestyle that is more balanced, active, and healthy.

Our practitioners often consult with one another to round out a patient’s treatment course. This communication allows for a more integrated approach to your chiropractic treatment at our office and supplements the benefits that chiropractic care can provide to you.
